So I was watching a fansub called Beck last night and today–which I loved, by the way, じちゃん–that’s about a kid who joins a band and their subsequent struggles to break into the big time, and the music in the show got me feeling nostalgic for all the hard rock I used to listen to in junior high and high school (I still listen to some of it now, but not as often, since my musical repertoire has vastly expanded since then). So earlier tonight, I broke out my old Temple of the Dog CD*, and man, did that bring back old memories! Of times when I took everything too seriously, and music was crucial to my emotional well-being. God, I love Chris Cornell’s voice.
* IMO one of the best rock albums of the 90s, if not all time.
