Until what, you ask?
To me and a small group of my friends, it’s 7 days until we go to Vegas to celebrate my 30th birthday. This is my personal guarantee: Vegas will never be the same.
To most everyone else, though, it’s 7 days until Apple releases the next version of Mac OS X: version 10.5, named Leopard.
I have, of course, already pre-ordered* my copy, and await it with bated breath. I plan on installing it on my personal laptop, a G4 PowerBook, but will wait until the first couple of patches come out (as, inevitably, they will) to install it on my work laptop.
Look out for my first impressions after installation, much like I did with Tiger. In the meantime, check out this neat-o guided tour.
* What does this mean? That I’m ordering it before I order it? This is a flagrant bastardization of the English language, much like the words “pre-board”, “pre-install”, and “pre-fetch”. Jesus.
a Superbowl preview today*, and we saw today what I think we’ll see in February. The Patriots simply outclassed the Cowboys, who are an excellent team, but just not on the Pats’ level.
* Yes, I know that the road to the Superbowl has to go through Indianapolis yet, but, man, the Patriots just look unstoppable. The Cowboys, on the other hand, have no competition in the NFC. At all.
In fantasy news, I’m currently up by 10 and still have Bobby Engram to play. This game was made for me by LT and Wes Welker, who had huge performances today with 44 and 24 points, respectively.
I’m favored by 20 points in today’s matchup, partly because my opponent has two inactive quarterbacks: Jake Delhomme and Rex Grossman. In fact, as my opponent is a Bears fan and has most of their players on her fantasy team, including their DST—except for Desmond Clark, who I have at TE—rooting for them will mean rooting for her. But I’m willing to risk it. BEARS!
Speaking of Ds, I have the only defense, I think, that could compete with the Bears’: the Patriots’. It’ll be a good matchup…stay tuned for more.
What a nail biter! That was possibly the craziest game I’ve ever seen.
I won’t lie; I was really rooting for the Cowboys here, but you gotta feel bad for the Bills tonight. They were just on, and couldn’t seem to beg, borrow or steal a win. Poor guys.
my neighbor and I were standing around in our garage talking about how we thought the Cowboys were going to the Superbowl. I guess that hasn’t changed, fundamentally, but god, the Cowboys—and especially Tony Romo—look awful tonight. They may yet pull it out, but tonight is not a night they should be proud of.
Credit where it’s due, though: Buffalo’s play was simply inspired, especially the defense and special teams. Wow.
I don’t even care that I lost my fantasy game. BOO-YAH.
going 3-and-out is not the way to win football games. On the bright side, the defense is playing solidly though not spectacularly, and Tillman, coming off a week spent injured, is playing like he has something to prove. If only the rest of the team was doing the same…
for me; Donald Driver just caught a 26-yard pass that put my opponent at 77 to my 74. Sigh.
I’m currently up by one point, and all my players have already played. My opponent still has Donald Driver to play in tonight’s Bears-Packers matchup, so hopefully he’s not much of a factor tonight. I’m not holding my breath on this one, though.
If Philip Rivers keeps playing the way he played today, I’ll consider him as my starting QB.
advertising agency. They should have fired them years ago. First there were those twins, then they came up with that stupid love train campaign, and now there is this unutterably awful fake coach interview series. It’s made worse because it’s actually a good idea, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired, the first and biggest problem being that they hired, like, the 4 most annoying guys in the world to be the fans.
Coors should hire the agency responsible for, say, the Nike Football commercial, or the one that Miller uses; in contrast to Coors, Miller has had a bunch of good commercials in the past few years, notably that series with the referees. The More Taste League series has potential, but I’m still withholding judgment on that.
And speaking of good commercials, I love love love that Snickers Feast series. They are so random, but they are damn funny. Ha!
