About the written word
I love to read. I mean it. I really love to read. It is my number one method of diversion. It wins out over my fancy home entertainment system, my PS2 or my computer any day. And since such a significant percentage of my free time is spent reading, it’s only right to devote some portion of my website to it.
First, you should know that I don’t read real books. The vast majority of my reading material is fiction, in the science fiction/fantasy genres. I have been known, on rare occasion, to read books that will actually improve my mind, but the percentage thereof is vanishingly small. As a result, most authors and books I talk about on this site will have something to do with these genres; I don’t claim to know anything about authors or books in other genres.
I also love to write. And I am (as if you didn’t know) a shameless elitist. As such, a significant portion of this site will be devoted to the craft and art of writing, both my own and others’, what works, what doesn’t, and what’s just ugly.
So as you might have (if you’re exceptionally astute) already figured out, this section of my site is devoted to books and writing.
